According to the type of filter element, it is divided into: mesh type oil filter, line gap type oil filter, paper core type oil filter, and sintered oil filter.

Mesh type oil filter: The filter element uses copper mesh as the filter material. A plastic or metal cylindrical frame with many holes is covered with one or two layers of copper wire mesh. The filtration accuracy depends on the number of copper mesh layers and The size of the mesh. This kind of filter is generally used in the suction port of a hydraulic pump.

Line gap oil filter: Generally, steel wire or aluminum wire is closely wound on the outside of the cylindrical frame to form a filter element, and the small gap between the copper wires is used to filter out the impurities mixed in the liquid. The structure is simple, the flow capacity is large, and the filtering accuracy is higher than that of the mesh filter, but it is not easy to clean. Mostly return oil filter.

Paper core oil filter: The filter element is a paper core made of microporous filter paper. The paper core is surrounded by a skeleton made of tin-plated iron with holes to increase the strength. In order to increase the filtration area, the paper core is generally made into a folded shape. Its filtration accuracy is high, and it is generally used for fine filtration of oil, but it cannot be cleaned after clogging.

Sintered oil filter: The filter element is sintered with metal powder, and the micropores between the particles are used to block the passage of impurities in the oil. The filter element can withstand high pressure.
