When oil enters the rotor and comes out of the nozzles, the rotor rotates quickly to clean the oil in the rotor. The impurities in the oil are thrown to the inner wall of the rotor by centrifugation, and the oil from the nozzle flows back to the oil pan. The centrifugal oil filter is characterized by stable performance, no filter element that needs to be replaced, as long as the rotor is regularly removed, the dirt deposited on the rotor wall can be cleaned and reused. Its life can be equivalent to that of the engine. Its shortcomings are complex structure, high price, bulky, etc., and have high technical requirements for users.

Full-flow oil filters, such as replaceable, spin-on, and split-flow centrifugal types as mentioned above, filter all the oil entering the system. The split-flow filter only filters 5%-10% of the oil supplied by the oil pump. Split-flow oil filters are all fine filters, which are generally combined with full-flow. Most low-power engines only use full-flow filters, and more powerful diesel engines use full-flow plus split-flow filters.

Oil filters have higher requirements for filter paper than air filters, mainly because the temperature of the oil varies from 0 to 300 degrees. Under severe temperature changes, the concentration of oil will also change accordingly, which will affect Filter flow of oil. The filter paper of high-quality oil filter can filter impurities and ensure sufficient flow under severe temperature changes.
